ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Author Yirmi Tyler grew up in a largely non-practicing Jewish home. An Orthodox Jew today, Yirmi passed through a spectrum of Jewish thought -- from secular, non-practicing Jew in a fully integrated U.S. society, to devout Reform Jew, to fully practicing Torah-observant Jew. He has along this path become familiar with the special traditions of Orthodox Jews of all stripes: Chassidim, "Black Hat" Jews, Sephardi Jews and Young Israel Jews.
After 30 years in the secular business world he certainly has a unique perspective that helps him relate to people of all religious convictions, non-Jew and Jew alike - and he's brought that understanding to this exciting book.
No matter who you are, no matter what your religious conviction is, this book was written for YOU.
"So Many Gates to the City. A Book About Jewish Belief and Understanding, and Making Some Sense of It" -- clearly this is a time in history when its need is most evident.
That Jewish mind-set, that uniquely Jewish view of the world, the apparently contending agendas of the several segments of the Jewish religious body politic that confuse each other and the non-Jewish world as well now becomes clearer, more understandable.
